Originally [[Wikipedia:AMOS BASIC|AMOS BASIC]] was a dialect of the [[Wikipedia:BASIC|BASIC]] programming language implemented on the Amiga, inspired by the Atari ST computer version [[Wikipedia:STOS BASIC|STOS]]. AMOS BASIC was published by Europress Software and originally written by [[Wikipedia:François Lionet|François Lionet]] with [[Wikipedia:Constantin Sotiropoulos|Constantin Sotiropoulos]]. It was a major successful product with many programmers learning to code on this platform in the early days of home computing.

On the 4th of April, 2019, AMOS2 was announced for free download. A system independent [[Wikipedia:BASIC|BASIC]] language using [[Wikipedia:JavaScript|JavaScript]] as its interpreter.
