proc ファイルシステム、または [[Wikipedia:procfs|procfs]] は擬似ファイルシステムで、通常 {{ic|/proc}} にマウントされ、実行中のシステムに関する情報を含んでいます。

There are many files under {{ic|/proc}} which provide a lot of information about the system as well as the kernel. There are too many to cover them all here, but some of them are listed below with brief information about what they are.

* {{ic|/proc/cpuinfo}} - informations about CPU
* {{ic|/proc/meminfo}} - information about the physical memory
* {{ic|/proc/vmstats}} - information about the virtual memory
* {{ic|/proc/mounts}} - information about the [[mount]]s
* {{ic|/proc/filesystems}} - information about filesystems that have been compiled into the kernel and whose kernel modules are currently loaded
* {{ic|/proc/uptime}} - current system uptime
* {{ic|/proc/cmdline}} - kernel command line

Inside {{ic|/proc/''pid''}} is stored information about every process currently running.

Some of the fields:

* {{ic|cmdline}} - arguments used to start program.
* {{ic|cwd}} - current working directory for the process.
* {{ic|environ}} - environment variables inside the process (zero-delimited).
* {{ic|fd/}} - directory containing open file descriptors for the process.
* {{ic|exe}} - symbolic link to process executable.
* {{ic|maps}} - memory mapping of the process.
* {{ic|mem}} - virtual memory of the process.

== Usage ==

You can interact with {{ic|/proc}} contents as with regular files.

To read from a file:

 $ cat /proc/cmdline

To write to a file:

 # echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/sysrq
