Savage は S3 と VIA によって製造されていたビデオチップセットです。Linux ドライバーは Savage, ProSavage, Twister チップセットをサポートしています。

インストール

既に Xorg をインストールしている場合、xf86-video-savage^AUR パッケージをインストールしてください。

設定

/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ に 99-savage.conf という名前の設定ファイルを作成 (名前は自由に付けて構いません):

以下のテキストを貼り付けてファイルを保存してください:

10以上前のチップセットなのでサポートはあまり手厚くないためアクセラレーションは切ったほうが良いでしょう。上記の設定は Savage/IX でテスト済みです。

フレームバッファ

残念ながら、Savage チップセットのフレームバッファドライバーは存在しません。vga カーネルパラメータでフレームバッファのビデオモードを設定してみてください。例えば、800x600 のフレームバッファなら vga = 0x314 と、1024x768 のフレームバッファなら vga = 0x317 と設定します。
