管理と意思決定
このページでは、公式貢献者により Arch Linux ディストリビューションに使われている管理モデルを説明します。リーダーの役割と意思決定の手順についても含みます。
中心となる主義
Arch Linux ディストリビューションはボランティアベースの努力で、貢献者の意欲・自由な時間と勤勉さに頼っています。貢献を楽にするために、管理モデルは単純で可能な限り摩擦の起きないように努力しています。
中心となる主義は以下の通りです。
- 誰でもディストリビューションにあらゆる面で自由に貢献できなければいけません。
- 特定のプロジェクトに関する決定は、そのプロジェクトに活発に参加している人々によって決定されなければいけません。
つまり、プロジェクトはほぼ完全に自治的に関わっている貢献者によって導かれています。プロジェクトの貢献者の間で問題が発生したときや、2つのプロジェクトの方向性が衝突したときだけ、下記の手順が必要とされます。
一般的な意思決定手順
問題を解決する一般的な手順は以下の通りです。
- 問題は関連するメーリングリストで議論されます。議論が合意に至ったら、対応する決定がなされます。
- 合意に至らなければ、かつその時に限って、リーダーが最終決定をします。
それぞれのカテゴリの公式貢献者は、内部の問題を解決するために自由に違った手順を選ぶことができます。適用可能なときに以下で言及されます。2つ以上のカテゴリに関係する問題は、上記の一般的な手順を使って解決しなければいけません。
公式貢献者のカテゴリ
Arch Linux ディストリビューションの公式貢献者は4つのお互いに排他的でないカテゴリに分類されます。
プロジェクトリーダー
The leader's main roles are to:
- Represent Arch Linux in a legal capacity. For instance, they act as contact for SPI, approve expenses, enforce our trademark, etc.
- Make the final decision when (and only when) the community is unable to resolve an issue using the process described above.

開発者
They maintain the core and extra package repositories in addition to doing any other developer duties.
Decisions on issues specific to developers, including developer addition and removal, are made according to the general process above.
Trusted User
They are in charge of the community repository.
Decisions on issues specific to trusted users, including trusted user addition and removal, are made according to the TU bylaws.
サポートスタッフ
Consists of indispensable people in a wide variety of roles. They keep the infrastructure for the distribution and its community running smoothly.
They include:
- Forum moderators
- Wiki administrators and moderators
- IRC moderators
- Bugwranglers
- Security team members
